Rage of the Seas slot – Gameplay and Features

The main game starts with 5 reels with 4 symbols each, according to the win-all-ways principle. In other words, there are 1,024 ways to win.

But there is more in the tank. The middle three reels can expand to as many as seven symbols per reel. That way, the number of win-ways can increase from 1,024 to 5,488.

The four premium symbols are four pirates, of which two are male, and two are female. It will not surprise you that the captain is the most paying.

The six low-paying symbols are a Steering wheel, a Rum Bottle, Sharks, a Barrel, an Anchor and a Parrot.

Furthermore, you have Wild symbols (a kind of pink monkey, but if it were a squid, I would also believe it). I’ll come back to that in a moment.

You have Scatter symbols, recognizable by the Deathheads.

And last but not least, the Boost symbols. Suppose you spin one, a monkey escapes and crawls up.

The boosters – or feature spins

If you spin a Boost symbol and the monkey crawls up, it opens three windows above reel 2, 3 or 4.

It gets you four free feature spins, and the corresponding reel gets seven instead of 4 symbols.

Besides, you benefit from one of the following five boosters:

  • multiplier of x2
  • Stacked Wild: Wilds ranging from 1 to 4 in size, appear on one of the middle reels
  • Spreading Wild: These appear on one of the middle reels, and two random adjacent symbols are converted into a Wild symbol.
  • Major Reel Upgrades: All Anchor and Barrel symbols disappear, improving your odds om making larger winning combos
  • Minor Reel Upgrade: All the Rum bottle and the Steering wheel symbols disappear.

The feature spins are triggered quite often, so there is plenty of action!

But there is more.

How do you get the free spins?

If you manage to spin the Boost symbol on all three middle reels (during the feature spins), all middle reels unfold to 7 symbols. Afterwards, the remaining feature spins convert into free spins. How nice is that!

You can also activate the free spins by spinning 3, 4 or 5 Scatters. These yield 5, 8 or 12 free spins, respectively.

The free spins – 5.488 ways to win and more boosters in play

The main advantage is that you have as many as 5,488 ways to win. And that as many as three (random) of the five boosters are activated.

I guess I don’t need to explain that your odds of winning something massive improve dramatically!

Payout percentage (RTP)

The payout percentage of Rage of the Seas is 96.04%. For Netent terms, it’s a bit modest, but fortunately, it’s still higher than 96%.

Rage of the Seas slot – the variance (volatility) is High

The variance is High according to Netent. I expect most top wins to be around 500x to 1000x.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Plenty of action
  • Stunning animations
  • Not too risky, so gaming fun is guaranteed.
  • The wins may not be sky-high, but the odds of winning something decent are not bad at all.

Cons

  • You’re not going to become rich.
  • The RTP is on the low side, especially for a Netent slot.

So, who’ll like the slot? And who won’t?

For sure, this slot appeals to those players looking for gaming fun.

The wins are reasonable, but these won’t make you rich. If you look for the latter, you should try a slot with a high
