Beautiful Bones is Microgaming’s version of a Mexican “Day of the Dead” themed slot

Beautiful Bones is a so-called “Win All Ways” slot – there are no fixed paylines. Each winning combination from left to right across the entire reels makes you a winner. There are 5 reels with 3 symbols per reel, and the game has 243 ways to win. The minimum bet is only $€ 0.30 per spin, and the maximum bet is limited to $€ 30 per spin.

The skulls play a crucial role in the game, and they are worth between 5 x and 10 x the total bet for a five-of-a-kind. These symbols also occur in small stacks, so it is possible to get multiple winning combinations with the same symbol.

These colourful skulls look truly stunning. Who could have known dead people could be so sexy? The 9, 10, J, Q, K and A symbols have a Mexican touch as well, and they pay out between 3.3 x and 5 x your total bet.

The Spin Again Feature

Beautiful Bones Free Spins Bonus

You cannot activate the free spins bonus with a single combination of symbols, as in most other slots. Instead, in Beautiful Bones, you have to collect symbols to get into the bonus game. Every time a so-called Sugar Skull appears on the screen (on reel 1 or reel 5), the Sugar Skull meter rises.

Our verdict on the Beautiful Bones slot

We really enjoyed this medium variance slot. Graphically it is a gem, something you’d hardly expect from Microgaming. The “Day of the Dead” theme is nicely worked out, and the save-for-a-bonus feature is original and works well.

To us, this is 1 of the best Microgaming releases of 2017.
