Wonder Woods

wonder woods logo

Wonder Woods is a typical Just For The Win slot. The slot is neither very good nor bad. Just For The Win creates video slots that are not unpleasant but never, ever kick ass, or have us on the edge of our seats; no excitement. Flatliners. Usually, you play them for a few tenners, grab a bonus round or two to see how it all works, and then delete the slot from your memory instantly.

Just For The Win is the king of mediocrity

Wonder Woods is one of those typical Just For The Win slots. The theme is not too distinctive: life in the woods. The variance is quite medium (you can win up to 400 x the bet per spin), and the bonus round is okay, but an adrenaline rush? Forget it.

It all ripples by like a rustic stream of nothingness.

Wonder Woods gameplay and features

Wonder Woods is moulded in the classic video slot setup of 5 reels with 3 rows of symbols and 20 fixed paylines.

You can bet from $€ 0.10 up to $€ 100 per spin.

The theoretical payout rate of Wonder Woods is 96.03%, which is just about okay but, of course, not great.

The slot has low to medium variance, with top prizes hovering around the 250x to 500x the bet mark.

Symbols and payouts

This slot revolves around the mystery symbols (the question marks), and this slot rubs that in quite frantically. Almost every spin, some of these mystery symbols drop on the reels. They can contain all the symbols, except the bonus scatters.

The premium symbols consist of the Wonder Woods logo (20 x the total stake in a 5-of-a-kind) and three fruit symbols (oranges, cherries, and grapes).

The fruit yields between 6 x and 15 x the wager for 5, the same on an active payline.

The low symbols consist of, you guessed it, card symbols. If you hit a J, Q, K, and A five times, you win between 2 x and 4 x the total bet.

The wild symbol replaces all other symbols except the scatters.

Free spins bonus

3, 4, or 5 bonus scatters with the word “Free Spins” on them will activate the free spins bonus.

Time for the fireworks, you might think. Forget it.

Depending on the number of scatters, you win 8, 10, or 12 free spins.

During the free spins, all mystery symbols that drop become sticky for the rest of the free spins bonus game.

Of course, the goal is to create as many 5-of-a-kinds with mystery symbols as possible so that you will make several 5-of-a-kinds every spin at some point.

But even then, success is not always guaranteed. It often happens that you’ve collected many sticky mystery symbols, but you only get low symbols as mystery symbols. Then you still end up with a meagre 20 x to 30 x the bet as a result.

Our verdict on the Wonder Woods video slot?

Wonder Woods is a very mediocre slot machine in everything; blandness all over.

That’s precisely what we don’t like; a slot should excite, stand out, surprise and pay off big time.

Just For The Win should take a hard look at Nolimit City, who, with their Punk Rocker slot, set the tone for the whole industry and hit the nail on the head.

2.5 out of 5 stars.
